ok. I am officially a blogger now. After days of thinking about it, then thinking some more about it, then forgetting about it and finally getting tired of thinking about it I've finally done it. 'Mostly harmless' is finally out there- but where? This is a question which has been bothering me ever since the day an old aunt asked me to explain the word 'internet' to her. I sat down with a pen and paper and started right from bits and bytes building up to the entire virtual world wide web 'out there'. I used all kind of similes- the internet is like a bazaar with shops, addresses and a load of other bunkum. She listened to me wide eyed and at the end of my hugely satisfying lecture floored me with- 'yes but where exactly is this virtual world?' Where is this 'out there'? In the chips? In the circuits? In our minds?
I had no clear cut answer. Does anyone?

in outrageous telephone bills and humungous broadband tariffs...

second attempt
the virtual world exists in the keyboards of those who blog, monitors of those who orkut, and servers of those who earn all the money?
it's a bit like footprints on the sand...you know somebody's been but when and where?
