Mall mania

Ok. I'm back and all set to blog regularly with renewed vigour! I know i didnt live up to my earlier promises but hey i was collecting information- and then sifting and churning them...all that takes an awful lot of time you know!
Well, my three weeks of sunny florida (too sunny for my liking) whizzed past in a flurry. I was looking forward to a lot of outdoor walking, strolling and general lazing in the beaches but i hadnt given my 'sensitive' skin much thought. The sun was harsh and piercing. I pasted sunscreen all over my face and arms which gave me a horrible rash with the result i was miserable. In fact the only person with an umbrella on the beach (and that too a half opened one because the winds were too strong) was yours truly.

And then there was all that walking to do- from one mall to the next! I had sworn this time that i would not graze too near those sinful places that lured innocent victims like us with their tempting merchandise. I'm sorry to say i forgot all about it the minute i landed. But that wasnt the bad part. The trouble was that whatever I bought after a lot of serious decision making i found to my utter disgust that there was a cheaper alternative to it. One day you are drooling over a shirt in Target which you think is pretty good for say $ 10 and take it. The next day you visit Gap and find the same shirt for $ 7 and there is a huge possibility that if you go to Walmart after that you might find it at the clearance rack for $3! If that isnt a shopper's nightmare i would like to know what is. Consequently most of the things that i bought had to be returned and rebought at the cheaper venues which made everything very complicated and messy. And while i was settling all this i happened to pick up other stuff which i have no use for. It's like a vortex. The more you look the more you want to buy. And the more you buy the more discount coupons you collect which again means you go back to buy some more...
I can understand why shrinks have such flourishing practices in the US. You need doctors for this kind of thing. And it all starts because you want to buy a shirt!
